Advantages of mini groups
Our classes do not exceed 5 persons but may very well be even smaller. The fewer students per class the more intense the tuition will become.
- You will be able to speak a lot more
- The learning experience is much more intense than in a larger group
- The fewer students, the more intense the tuition becomes.
- We can focus better on the needs of everybody.
Strong focus on conversation
Our experience shows that students want and need to train their talking ability the most. Usually they are already very strong in grammar and their writing skills. The weakest point usually is the ability to express themselves orally in German properly and fluently. Therefor we decided to focus on improving your talking skill. Our small classes will give you the opportunity to talk a lot - everybody just gets to talk more as there are only a few students.
Your listening comprehension will also be trained at the same time - all teachers are native speakers of German. Short reviews and exercices of grammar or pronunciation and vocabulary build-up complement our classes.
Course Units of sole participants
Please consider that we are a very small language school. It can happen, that you are the only person of your language level. As we do not want to cancel courses, we decided to reduce the number of daily units by one.
In fact your course will turn into individual tuition at group rate. Should you be alone, you will receive only 2 units of tuition a day. Please consider, that your individual tuition will be much more intense and we can concentrate more on your needs!
Of course, individual lessons of the Premium course will not be reduced! If you decide for the Premium version, you will definitely have 2 units of individual tuition on Friday!
Contents of Course
We will cover various topics to help you build-up vocabulary, explain grammar and do exercises. Teachers will use different methods to exercise and help you use and remember the newly learned words and grammar matters like small role-plays, fill-in texts, writing exercises, etc.
We do not only teach German but we also want to share as much of our culture with you as possible. Therefor we often work with texts about Austrian and Viennese culture. This way you will get to know more about our traditions and people, our feasts, history and monuments.
When you register for one of our courses of General German, you are asked to state your level of language knowledge. This is just a self-evaluation that we use for a preliminary class assignment. After having received your deposit we will send you a placement test that you should take within a week. It is a written test, that checks on your grammar and vocabulary knowledge, reading comprehension and capability of written expression. This test will help us to place you in the right course. In some cases we might additionally have a short interview with you on your first day at school which corresponds to an “oral test” before definitely assigning you to a course checking on your oral expression and listening comprehension.
